Even in the "Sunny South" it's too cold to ride, and I'm so bored, I began wondering what motorcycles are called in other countries. In the U.S., there is the standard "bike" and there are a few other names. A friend of mine is an ER nurse and refers to them as "donorcycles."

This started me wondering what our two-wheeled machines are called (1) in other languages (French, German, Japanese, etc), and (2) what nicknames are given them in other countries.

Any help out there?
