I am delighted to inform you that during the 13th Plenary Poll Of Hamsters Ink., it was decided that ABC Radio News was the News Station Of The Year. Close Second was CNN and ninety-third was Fox News.

The key criteria in determining the winner was the length of each newscast and how relevant it was to hamsters. It was felt that ABC was best because each news story only lasted for 10 seconds. Consequently after the third news item had been read each hamster said they couldn't remember the first. As such, they felt ABC was giving a service to hamstermanity - and their presentation enabled the hamsters to get on with other things.

Fox came close to last because they never ran any stories on how to clean feeder bottles and where to store one's nuts in winter.

Next Poll: Best hamster music software.

Well I'm surprised Fox News made the top 100, we've had that a few months on SKY satellite TV and I can't believe people watch it. Must be one of the worse things to come out of the US. It shows your hamsters are more tolerant than me in placing it 93rd.

I place SKY News itself near the top, followed by one of our local TV stations then BBC/CNN.

Fox is just to slanted towards Bush and company. Which as we have seen of the Bush presidency, it is a total failure, so what does that say about Fox?

Arch as you can see your hamsters are far more tolerant than some of us older, and should be wiser people.

He does Tryp. In fact he owns the world but we've got to pretend he doesn't. I'll be delighted when he's dead.

Fox's dirty latest little scam was reporting that Barak Obama was educated in a terrorist school when six. They of course never bother checking and double checking and then verifying their source. O heck no, that would take up to much time.

The Bush bashers go to any length to make a joke out of anything right leaning , to include hypocritcal attitudes toward subjects (especiallly political topics, the Iraq war, etc.) which can and should be discussed with an open mind, rather than with a cynical, self-rightous approach. Taking a position on the "fair and open mindedness" of the right-leaning FOX News verses CNN, the BBC, NPR or ABC is just one example, in my humble opinion.

May I propose this? Let's leave complaints about the Iraq War and anti-Bush rethoric to us Americans on this forum, please, since we are primarliy involved with these problems, and we'll allow our continental bretheren to defend, make fun of, or explain your bizzare Lord Mayor of London, vegimite, George Michael and other peculiar things unique to your cultures. Is that fair?

It is amazing how this supposed "motorcycle" forum can quickly segment into little camps of "friends" with similar political views, who defend their group or attack the opposing side on topics related to liberal verses conservative political issues. I have a feeling that a huge number of forum members here have the same opinion as I do on this matter. Don't take for granted that the majority of fellow Triumph forum members here agree with everything having to do with real world, serious issues like that ***** war, gun control, or a democracy's political leadership, nor appreciate a narcissitic attitude about current world events. You know, many people with some particular view, for example if they actually do like and respect President Bush, can look upon an outsider's ridicule about Bush as a personal attack either on themselves, or about their own country. (Perhaps you UK fellows felt that way when I posed a question last week about my observation that the "F" word strikes me as more common in your society than I believe occurs in the States, for example. That was not an attack on you or your country, by the way).

It seems that the very most we all have in common here on this forum is our collective interest in Triumph motorcycles, but that is about all we might ideally hope to agree on.

As they say, don't visit your neighbors and plan to discuss politics or religion. Good natured fun and ribbing is one thing, but cynical ridicule about a serious issues involving politics is going too far. Maybe that needs to apply here with more regularity?

Just my opinion.

Some might call that capitalism. Should we not be more worried about the following Reuters news story instead?

BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese Communist Party chief Hu Jintao has vowed to "purify" the Internet, state media reported on Wednesday, describing a top-level meeting that discussed ways to master the country's sprawling, unruly online population.

Hu made the comments as the ruling party's Politburo -- its 24-member leading council -- was studying China's Internet, which claimed 137 million registered users at the end of 2006.

Hu, a strait-laced communist with little sympathy for cultural relaxation, did not directly mention censorship.

But he made it clear that the Communist Party was looking to ensure it keeps control of China's Internet users, often more interested in salacious pictures, bloodthirsty games and political scandal than Marxist lessons.

The party had to "strengthen administration and development of our country's Internet culture", Hu told the meeting on Tuesday, according to the official Xinhua news agency.

"Maintain the initiative in opinion on the Internet and raise the level of guidance online," he said. "We must promote civilized running and use of the Internet and purify the Internet environment."

In 2006, China's Internet users grew by 26 million, or 23.4 percent, year on year, to reach 10.5 percent of the total population, the China Internet Network Information Center said on Tuesday.

The vast majority of those users have no access to overseas Chinese Web sites offering uncensored opinion and news critical of the ruling party. But even in heavily monitored China, news of official misdeeds and dissident opinion has been able to travel through online bulletin boards and blogs.

Hu told officials to intensify control even as they seek to release the Internet's economic potential. "Ensure that one hand grasps development while one hand grasps administration," he said.
