Skews me! This post is not about Bush Bashing. It is about the media.
Unless one has a degree in cretinism - with honours, you CAN NOT suggest that any of the bilge pumped out by FOX or SKY should be treated as being serious or having integrity. It's media for the morons. Those who can't think or don't want to think or want their political vanity massaging while feeding their face with junk.
News is about presenting both sides of the argument and letting the reader/listener and viewer decide. Of which the Washington Post, N.Y.T, B.B.C, C4, CNN do an excellent job.
Scrambler I'd love to ignore Bush (I do!) but some changes have got to be made. He and subsequent Presidents need to get it into their thick heads that they are NOT, repeat NOT The Leader Of The Free World.
Bush - leader of the free world? He couldn't lead a team of starving huskies through a Mexican diner.
Anybody ever thought of that stupid expression:'coalition of the willing' I guess it would be a little dumb to have a coalition of the unwilling or those who are only half-willing. Do these lumpheads ever analyse their silly soundbites?
It's a pity Bush and Blair aren't gay. They could walk off into the exploding bombs - sorry sunset - holding hands. Maybe George Michael could marry them both as he croons Careless Whispers.
Scram. Please feel free to give all the European politicians and celebrities a good whooping. They need one. You can start off with that big fairy Elton John.
I'd best stop now because the hamsters want me to tune into Al Jazeerah T.V. Hell knows why because none of them can speak Jazeerah.
:-D

"As they say, don't visit your neighbors and plan to discuss politics or religion."
I'm going to adopt that as my belated New Year motto.
Anything I can add to it? Please don't make the list too long as my memory is very.........ummm.....I've forgotten already.
:-D

Like the BBC with their regional and world news there are different versions of SKY, here we have a OZ and NZ version although the announcers are Aust and despite it stating SKY NZ and reporting local several of the 'local' issues are OZ.
It also gives an hours version several times per day of SKY UK, overall these versions are ok, you have to sort the wheat from the chaff with all news and form your own opinion.
Prime is also an OZ TV station we get here with a NZ content and Prime News is not too bad either. The only 'news' I cannot watch is what Tryp rightly calls Pox News.

Fox News was like a breath of fresh air when it came on the scene. It provides a needed balance to the existing left-wing dominated main-stream media. For example, to hear the MSM tell it, you would think we are in a economic depression.
Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them wrong.
I wonder why left-biased reporting is acceptable on a news channel that is partially funded with tax dollars (NPR), but right-biased reporting is decried on a commercial network? I mean, freedom of speech works both ways, right? The answer is that the left hates freedom of speech.
For liberals, the only acceptable message is the message of the left. Witness the many conservative speakers who get shouted down on college campuses. Witness this thread, where the one and only conservative news source in the U.S. is attacked and mocked, while liberal news channels are cited as the only "legitimate" sources of news.
ABC hired George Stephanopoulos as it's Chief Washington Correspondent and host of "This Week." He was Bill Clinton's campaign manager and Communications Director! No one batted an eye. No, ABC is perfectly balanced. But let Tony Snow get hired by Bush - well that proves Fox is biased!
Whatever. I don't understand why we all can't just admit there is no unbiased, objective reporting anymore. Attacking Fox News is just another way of saying "I can't support my position on facts, so I'm going to attack any one who disagrees with me."
And Murdoch is THE MAN! Holy *****! That's what I call an EMPIRE! Capitalism ROCKS!
This is fun...

Here's my line up.

NPR: The whole of it, All Things Considered, Car Talk, The Splendid Table... I have it on most always. No anger, no railing, words of many syllables...
WCCO: The 'voice' of Minnesota radio. Tapioca, yet comforting.

New York Times
Wall Street Journal
Mpls. Star and Tribune
St Paul Pioneer Press
Investors Business Daily

5 or 6 UK on-line newspapers

I haven't watched national or local TV news in years upon years.

If I catch a few snippets of Rush or some such as I flip through the radio dial, I will pause and listen for a bit. But the invective is so strident and harsh and mean spirited... I think, gee, he should be on pain killers or something :-D :hammer:

Careful here! Somebody might post a (cheap shot) monkey photo of Bush and then lock down the thread!

It must really suck to hate life and the people in charge, who get all the blame. I can imagine how Prime Minister Winston Churchill felt when he was voted out of office while WWII was still raging. Not much appreciation for his efforts, I suppose. Cynicism is mightier than integity (for some people).

Escriva said "...the neutralisation on politics through prosperity." He didn't have RAT.NET though. He got it wrong.
If it wasn't Escriva I'm sure someone will correct me.
