Do you like riding motorbikes? I do.

To that end, for the first time ever, we are having a riding competition.

The idea is simple - ride your motorcycle, report your mileage, and maybe win prizes!

Format

We all like different kinds of riding, and that is great. The key is to get out and ride. Because this is an international forum, the competition will take place over one whole calendar year. Therefore, on 1/4/2015, the winners will be announced.

RULEZ

1. To enter, you must post a picture of your bike's odometer reading with a magazine, newspaper or other official document showing the date of January 1st 2014, or any date after that. Submit the pictures in this thread, or to me by PM. The date must be visible, as must the odometer reading. No need to get too creative, I am just after some basic proof that your odometer reading was taken on or after January 1st 2014.

EDIT 1/8/14 - odo pic and magazine / newspaper / official document must be in the SAME photo

You may sign up at any time throughout the year. Obviously the sooner you sign up, the sooner you can start accruing miles.

2. You may use as many motorcycles of whatever brand you wish, but each odometer must be submitted in accordance with rule 1.

3. At the completion of the competition, you must submit a new picture of each odometer of each bike used throughout the year. Submit your pictures here, or via PM to me. Completion pictures must be submitted by midnight on January 1st, 2015.

4. At the end of the competition, the winners list will be published.

5. The mileages will be broken into 5 categories as follows:

0-5000 miles
5000.1 to 10,000 miles
10,000.1 to 15,000 miles
15,000.1 to 20,000 miles
Over 20,000.1 miles

Prizes

Why do it? Well, mainly to ride, but also for the honour of being on the winners list, and also for prizes!

In addition, I hope to have monthly bonus prizes throughout the year. Stay tuned for those! Bonuses may involve a challenge other than simple mileage accumulation. Only people signed up for the mileage competition will be eligible to enter the monthly bonuses.

Right now, the TriumphRAT.net sponsors are putting together some great prizes for the event, and as these become available throughout the year, they will be listed here.

Remember, entry into the competition is at your own risk, please observe all laws as you ride, and ride safely.

Thanks, and have fun. Any questions? Please PM propforward.

NOTE: Competition is open to all TriumphRAT.net members EXCEPT TRN admin, who may join in for fun, but are exempt from prize winning. Moderators may join in for the full competition, as they are not involved in the administration. You must be a registered user of TriumphRAT.net to enter.

RESULTS

So, I have been through and checked all the odo pictures, and tallied the results, and they are listed below.

The next part is that I sit tight for a few days, so you all have a chance to verify what I have here. Mistakes sometimes get made- I found one in my starting mileage records for example when I was tallying results.

So, have a check, make sure you agree with what is posted. If you don't agree, please contact me with details.

Perfect!

Thanks fellas, great to have you aboard. I'll get pics of my own bikes tomorrow (I'm going to join in for a laugh, even though I am not allowed to win the prizes).

These are perfect examples of qualifying odo pics.

Hope more people join in!

I'm game:

2009 Triumph Bonneville SE (29,540)

2011 BMW R1200RT (24,426)

And let me just point out, in case some of you haven't noticed, that we should be pleased for Lefty. It appears, from his submitted receipt, that he is making an effort to acquire Culture--the first and most important step, of course, is to visit the Culture Building. Who knows where it will lead from there . . . ?

Congratulations Lefty!

:)

It's a Fontina grilled cheese sammich, there's no meat in it. It's a simple sammich, but that and a bowl of their creamy tomato soup is jolly splendid on a chilly day. :thumb :dinner

Well done South Coast, great to have you on board.

Hey Rich...I specifically told Prop to list you as an exception...hahaha Just kidding of course...:) ;) Welcome to the madness and I look forward to clocking some miles with you this year...:D

I should have saved this mornings Golden Arches receipt as it would have worked better than today's paper. The camera has the same problem dealing with the S3's odometer as my eyes do while riding. New tires on all the bikes so I've got a lot of rubber to burn. I hope I'll have the free time to do the miles.:D

In alphabetical order:
The Bonnie

The Duc

The FJR

And two pics of the S3

Total mileage is 54,583 mi.

Hey Bob, you read the fine print about mexican miles not counting right? ;):D

You guys have fun and ride safe down there. Looking forward to returning to Colorado in August and riding with you for sure.

Thanks Prop.

Rich
