2014 Indian Motorcycles

The new Polaris Indians were released late last night. I'm not so sure about the fairing and hard bags on the Chieftain, but I'm digging the Classic and Vintage models.
The new engine is rated at 119 TQ. Pretty serious for a v-twin.

Cool. All it needs is a stick shift on the left side and it could be my dad's 1946 Chief.

Cool bikes.

Hope they eventually "honor" some of their other heritage too.

Here is a 47 Indian if I remember correctly I came across on my recent road trip. It's always nice seeing the original Indians out on the road.

They look like the Gilroy Indians with a new old-style engine.

I'll wait for a smaller, lighter more slender "Sportstidian" please.

Sorry guys, but these are just generic Harley Victories. They don't take motorcycling forward any, do they?
EDIT They do look well built though.

From the article:

“I can really see the brand going anywhere and everywhere, and we want it to,” says Gray. “We don’t want the brand to pinned down into cruisers, baggers and touring like everyone probably expects. We want to go beyond that..."

We can only hope that the Scout when it's released may be something closer to a Bonneville/Sportster/CB1100 type bike than a Dyna or Wide Glide...
