First impression: I like them. I'm excited to see where they go from here.

What I saw on the Indian 4 segment on Jay Leno's Garage was that overheating was not an issue.

Victory and Indian engines are oil cooled and I see no reason why a modern Indian 4 couldn't be oil cooled as well. Give it a few more years and we may see one someday.

For now, I'm all over the Chief Vintage.

I've gotten some very positive feedback from folks that have done Indian demo rides at Sturgis. I think Indian made a winner.

It's Tuesday, August 6th, and on the Indian Motorcycle Website, still no Streaming Video or report of any kind whatsoever on the results of the Debut/Unveiling at Sturgis. What gives... ?

Something tells me that if the introduction had been a Major Success (how would you measure it?), they would have published it, and revealed the latest news. So far, all you can find on the interweb are generic announcements or extremely vague or bogus and biased reports.

A.) Are they taking sales orders at Sturgis?

B.) Are dealers signing up at Sturgis?

C.) ???

How would we know if the "Debut" was successful, other than a crowd screaming and roaring... who would do the exact same if a fat female pulls up her shirt!

I wish them success, but their Ad campaign has had a lot of mud-slinging and childish bashing Vs. "on it's own merit" style promotion.

2014 Sales will tell the true story... and Dealership networks/customer satisfaction. It's a long, long row to hoe, and they haven't got the tractor out in the field yet!

Best o' Luck!

Bob

I agree they should probably be doing more on their webpage but their youtube page has been lighting up pretty regularly.

I also heard that they tried streaming the debut but don't know much more than that. Supposedly orders are being taken

Whoa, let's give it a few more days. The Chiefs aren't expected in dealerships until next month.

A number of Indian dealers were taking deposits on orders before Sturgis. I know my dealer is busy processing those orders now that we know what models and colors will be available.

Indian expects to have over 120 dealers on board by the end of the year. I'm thinking that a lot of dealers didn't want to make the $250K commitment until they saw the machines. That likely also holds true for customers.

There has been pretty positive feedback from folks that have ridden the Chiefs. Give this another 45 days or so and let's see how it's going.

Any NY/NJ guys who want to do a demo, the Chiefs willll be in NJ on August 23 & 24. Then you can make up your own mind on it.

If Indian does an inline 4, they'll probably have to deal w/these people first--

Is it just me or does that page seem to have been last updated in 2003?
