It may be humans realize there is no room left in any culture to continue killing each other. The slave traders of the world, drug lords, war lords, gang bangers in Chicago will all have been tracked down and eliminated or retired but the weapons industry will have to give way to the food, fresh water, clean air and energy factions in order for man to survive at the current growth rate.
You can point at gun control failures around the world to justify not having any but having rules in one place doesn't preclude another place from making the outlawed gun and criminals from sneaking it in.
Standardization and adaption, world wide, of the metric system and anything else shows it can be done to allow free flow of info, technology, health and scientific knowledge. Eventually the world will learn that weapons of all types will need to be put away.
Not by the UN either but by a world wide human rights group with out politics which always screw everything up so far. It will change when the baby boomer's kids are old or gone. No visage of history past to cloud the great grand kid's minds.

I sure hope that you're right.

metric system
Check the nuts and bolts on your American made vehicles. You will be surprised how many metric fasteners there are. Look at a gallon of milk. It will read "1 U.S. gallon/3.78 liters". President Carter attempted to force a change to the metric system during his administration. It backfired. President Clinton sign a trade treaty agreeing any product exported from the USA will be metric. The metric system could be implemented in the USA within 20 years if we started in Kindergarten.

Yeah. Quite the naughty nurse....did things you only only read about in the men's magazines.
Too bad it was a male nurse. Probably explains why you don't remember. Blocked it out.
I tried to tell Lefty you'd want a female nurse, but he said they were all out.

Most people have at one stage in their life HAP.
In Australia the difference between a nurse and a ladder is not everyone has been up a ladder.
Might hide for a while, could be some fallout from my nurse joke, couldn't be as much as from my Idaho joke I hope.
