I'm guessing a bunch of hipster morons but if you are buying I will gladly try it.

Aha,
This is one of Belgium's finest beers - it has won several 'best beer of the world" awards the latest years. Normally, it's only available at the monastery where it is brewed by monks of the order of the Trappisten - hence, "Trappistenbeer." But since they had to renew their monastery - hence the "brick", for only once Westvleteren was available at some shops.
I strongly suggest trying one if you can get your hands on it. But keep in mind, driving will be a little hazardous after degustating a Westvleteren...
Cheers!

Having lived in a number of countries, and owing to my Aussie heritage, I take it upon myself to sample the local beers with great care and attention. Without doubt Trappist (Belgium monestry) beers are the finest in the world. They are more expensive than most, Westvleteren being one of the most expensive. Despite these lean times, they are worth a few extra dollars if you appreciate a good beer.

Thx for the heads up. They go on sale as a local beer shop at 1000 hrs today. They got 1 box! First come first served. A rare opportunity to try the best. I am tempted. Life is short...
