I forgot the Allman Brothers in a tittie bar on Salem St. in Dover NJ and the Dead and Steve Miller at the Felt Forum in NYC Thank God it was the felt forum cause the Dead played the same song for 5 hours. Likely many others, I think. At 62 I'm well into my back nine and as I look back I think I lived in the best of times, fast bikes, fast cars, fast women, great music, few rules, and you could fire one up most anywhere. If anyone gets a chance see Dave Mason of Traffic, he plays small venues and blew me away a couple of yrs ago.

That's a hard one.
Definatly The Moody Blues in 2001 which was Ray Thomas's farewell tour.
The Doors with Ian Ashtbury, opening acts Pat Travers Band and Vanilla Fudge, original line up featuring Carmine Appice. 2005 (I think?)
Black Sabbath (as Heaven and Hell) with Ronny James Dio, his last tour before he died with Black Sabbath, 2007. Opening acts Down (yawn) and Megadeth (OK but only Dave Mustaine is an original member.)
Lee Rocker at an intimate show, we hung around for a meet and great after the show. Nice guys. Out in the lobby signing autographs, taking pictures, drinking beers.
Rush 2001 Vapour Trails tour . Everytime I have seen them Outstanding performers. Real musicians.

Bowie (Ziggy Stardust tour )
Mott the Hoople (support band was an outfit called Queen, yep THAT Queen)
Barclay James Harvest with 50 piece orchestra, watching from the top of an ice cream van at Wheely festival, new band to me at the time.
Sabbath, '71?
Derek and the Dominoes on the Layla tour.
I've been to other concerts since, I guess I was at an impressionable age then

I saw Paul Simon in Hyde Park last summer, playing the Graceland album in it's entirety, complete with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Hugh Masakela, and all the rest. It was absolutely magical. Best concert I've ever been to.
Saying that, I've seen Underworld play a few times, and they are always grand.
Public Enemy opening up for Cypress Hill at the Brixton Academy in 2000 or 2001 was an great experience. My mate Nathan and I were not only the only two white people in the audience, but we were half the size of any of the behemoths around us. Luckily, we had a bag of weed, and as soon as we started passing 'round the joints, we made friends fast.
And last week we went and saw Alabama 3, which is acid-house/techno/country/gospel, and just as mad as it sounds. It's the fourth or fifth time we've seen them, and they always put on a great show. The music, if you haven't heard it, is brilliant.
Oh, I also went and saw Def Leppard with my mom when I was 8.
And Bon Jovi a few years ago, and it was schitte.

I think that any concert at Red Rocks here in the Mile Hi must be a treat. Such a great venue.

I know what you mean - there are some venues you'll go to regardless of who's playing.
I haven't been to Red Rocks, but it's well known. From what I've seen it would be great.
One of the small to mid size outdoor venues in the bay area I love is the Mountain Winery in Saratoga. Not too big, but big enough to get some good size bands in with great views of the bay and just a great atmosphere all around. Back when I lived on my boat in the bay it was only 30 minutes or so to get there and I went many times. Since moving up near Sacramento I've only been once since it's more like a 2+ hr drive now.

There are plenty of other famous smaller venues in the SF bay area, like the Fillmore and the Greek, but I still like the Mountain Winery best.
I can't even remember the last stadium show I went to. I just don't have any interest in those things now.

The Gorge at George in Eastern Washington is pretty spectacular too. It's about an 1.5 to 2 hours east of Seattle.
