I saw this tour when they were in Pittsburgh. I was in high school at the time.

Did Klaus Meine keep throwing his tamborine behind the drum riser only to have a roadie sheepishly go fetch it and bring it back to him? Laughed my fool arse off at this I did!

Wow, I'm jealous!

Greatful Dead 1973
Beach Boys with Jefferson Airplane and New Riders 1974 (odd mix)
Huey Lewis featuring Tower of Power Horns (unexpectedly good, approx late 80s)
Niel Diamond (mid 90s, took my in-laws, 100x better than I expected, again)
Bruce Cockburn mid 90s
David Byrne, once early 90s and once late 90s

and I saw Muddy Waters once in a bar in the mid 70s. IDK how all you guys remember what years, I must have had better drugs...

Great Thread, Steve, and interesting to see some of the similarities in musical experiences. I'll not be able to pick the precise top 5, but here are some:

Stones '73 MSG
Zeppelin, MSG '75.
Bruce & E Street band, Stone Pony, Asbury Park, 2 1/2 hour unannounced set '75
Talking Heads, 1983 Fox Theatre, Atlanta
Neil Young & Crazy Horse, this October, 4th Row, Hollywood Bowl
Clash 1980 Bond, NYC

Wait that's six, and just getting started!

I honestly don't remember. I do remember him asking us if we wanted to party a lot.

Three weeks ago I got a front row ticket to see The Who perform Quadrophenia.

Some years ago I saw another favorite band, Wishbone Ash, with a front row seat. Awesome.

Have seen Rush about 13 times, and their retro tour a few years ago was the greatest. Lots of older songs they had not performed lived in years.
