Right now I'm playing Assassin's Creed 3 and Borderlands 2. Both are great games, although AC3 was a bit slow in the beginning. The next game on my list is Far Cry 3. I've heard good things about it.

Yeah, I think one reason I don't want a game system is because I know a bunch of 8 year olds would just keep killing me over and over before I even took 3 steps.
Like I said, it seems like the games are so developed at this point that if you haven't been playing them for the last 10 years you'd be totally lost. Everything is 'secret code this' and 'hidden bonus that'. Not something you can casually pick up and play around with.

Playing through at the moment: Mainly 2 games. First Doom 3D. In my man-cave setup I have 2 screens one is a 32" when I want a bigger image and the other is a 24" Sony 3D gaming display. 2nd is my game-that-I-will-never-finish Rocksmith. Crack on disk.
Highlight moment. On the PS1 I was playing a game called "G-Police" and was on a trailing mission when I get a radio call about some of my fellow "officers" being ambushed. My heart raced as I hit the afterburner to provide them some backup in the hopes that I wouldn't lose the perp I was following... At that moment I knew gaming had crossed a milestone.
As for favorite, I have to give it to the PS1 version of Metal Gear. Each character had such a profound backstory to them, I felt such heaviness hearing about the life of Psyco Mantis, what a sad, sad story and how incredibly creepy of the game to read my memory card and tweak the dialog according to what games were saved and how I played, I ended up finishing it 3 times.

The setups are really flexible, you can have games online where you can just have friends joining you, often as well you gain ranking so the system knows how inexperienced you are.
Some of the team setups encourage supportive play so you are then in a team that's looking out for you.
Gaming is not everyone's cup of tea, I understand, but for some of us I guess it's something to do when it's icy outside.

You can get lost for hours in Skyrim, not lost as in you can't find your way around the game, lost as in "what the h.e.l.l. happend to the last 6 hours?"

I can only imagine bike games would be that much worse.
I recall talking to a young guy a while back about Laguna Seca. He acted as if he had been there and was actually telling me 'tips' for my upcoming track day. Then he confessed he'd never actually been there, only played a game. Somehow I don't think the game is going to give quite the same sphincter-clenching sensation when the crest before the corkscrew unloads your suspension making things want to drift off-line as the potential of writing yourself off does.

i was thinking for entertainment. if the tracks are close in layout to the real thing, that would be cool. i doubt id spend enough time to play in full sim mode. i was just looking for a motorcycle game that my wife and i could play occasionally.

I'm a huge gamer with about 250 PS3 and Xbox games. My main preference is PS3 btw...
I'm playing Far Cry 3 and Borderlands 2 at the moment and they both are amazing! Borderlands 2 is just so freakin funny and FC3 is so totally wide-open and unpredictable that I really just can't decide which one that I really prefer. I think that it's a real shame that FC3 hasn't been (to my knowledge) up for Game Of The Year honors simply because it's come out so late in the year!
I generally like to switch back and forth from different genre's to always keep things fresh too. I've recently been playing Dirt Showdown and Forza Horizon a lot. Mass Effect is also a fave series for me.
