It sounds like you're looking for top five bands that provide you enjoyment (though I'm not sure how anyone can enjoy U2) and formed your musical likes and dislikes. If that's the case, here's my list:

1 - Black Flag
2 - Led Zeppelin
3 - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
4 - Chuck Berry and the various local and studio musicians who were fortunate enough to play with him
5 - Black Sabbath (with Ozzy or Dio)

Top five bands with amazing musical talent would be a different list (one that U2's definitely no where near).

1 - Led Zeppelin
2 - Cream
3 - Rush
4 - Jimi Hendrix Experience
5 - GG Allin and the Scumfucs (just kidding).

Bubbles,

We all have our opinions, and I truly respect that. What's up with the U2 hate? They were very good in concert. Saw them at the Croaker in Dublin in 2009.
