Well, I bet the guy you talked to had a good laugh with his buddies after you hung up so, on the bright side, you made their day!

??? Is that related to the American expression "come a cropper"?

I think he meant come a GUTSA. Which means to come a cropper, stack it or generally go ass over tit.

Pazzos: $160-$180.
Chinese knock-offs: $16.00 for the pair.
Go ahead and flame away but I picked up a pair of the knock-offs on Ebay from a NC seller and they work fine.
Yeah. I hate the chinese crap.
Yeah, I wanna support the home team.
But damn.
If they broke tomorrow I could pick up 9 more pair for what the Pazzos cost.

But you didn't get any bling with them did you? Where you going to get your stickers, and pens, and arm bands, etc.
Did your knock-offs even have the "L" stamped on them?
You take all that into consideration, and I'm not sure you came out ahead.

Both advertise the following:
6061-T6 billet aluminum CNC Machined to precise tolerances.
Fully adjustable (6 way) clutch and brake.
Custom cadmium plated springs
Stainless steel hardware
Custom brass pivot bushing
Regular and Shorty
Variety of anodized colors include black, blue, red, silver and gold.
Same quality? I don't know. I do know I can't tell the difference and it certainly isn't $160.00 worth of difference to me.
I get it...buying Chinese is bad. But look around your life. It's everywhere. And pointing out the percieved inferior quality as a reason for avoiding it doesn't always work.
I'll admit it. My principals are not absolute. Things I spend my money on are subject to scrutiny like everything else. Cost/value/need are balanced against my #1 principal, which is to keep my family fed.
As for the levers...if they break, they break. I'll go back to my stock levers without missing a beat. They are, after all, just levers.
*I will admit, though...I am somewhat bummed that I'm missing out on the stickers, keychains, and other swag that the chinese apparently don't have the means to produce.
