Watch this wreck. Too funny! Gotta be careful of the panniers in tight spaces and around corners! Read the comments. The critics of sport-touring bikes can go to rot, I love my FJR and think it looks great even with bags. AND the critics who think this could never happen to them need to remember "there but for the grace of God (or dumb luck) go I"

Couldn't read any comments as I am not registered in that forum, but IMO had he been covering that front brake, he may have had the chance to save it. A little arm chair quarter backing.

I have always hated panniers for just that type of thing. At least the bike didn't end up in the water...

Something tells me he shouldn't have been riding down that pathway....

My guess is he has a few broken bones after that. Im sure the bike isnt fairing too well after a 10' nose dive either.

Ouch !
I've got big panniers on my bike and try to avoid tight / confined spots. I did hit a concrete pole at the fuel pump last year. Not hard enough to knock me off, but I can see how it could easily lead to this....

I've clipped a vans wing mirror while filtering. Made me jump, no harm done but now extra cautious, shame to see the bike go off the edge:-(

He was fortunate to fall into one boat and have the bike NOT fall on top of him...that would have been a major "AH, S**T" moment to see the back of your bike ready to fall on your head. OUCH! I've knocked my panniers several times but nothing like that...at least I've not gotten any YouTube time (yet).
