AAA warns E15 gasoline could cause car damage
E15, a higher blend of ethanol and gasoline, has rolled out in a handful of states. But its use in older vehicles is generating warnings from AAA, which says E15 could be harmful to pre-2012 vehicles.

And diesel will destroy our engines too, so it is evil.
In Brazil, Triumphs are speced to use E25. They just built a factory there, too.
Also, reading that article, the gist is that they think most people are stupid, and won't pay attention to what they put in their tank.
If your vehicle can't handle E15, don't use it. How hard is that to get? But is that a reason to stop vehicles that can? Heck, going to ban Flex-Fuel vehicles?

And unleaded gasoline is bad for older engines too, get rid of it.

Myself personally I really do not give a rats behind what Brazil or any other country, nation or others are doing because we have our own nation and it's citizens to take care of first but if the A.A.A. is involved in trying to help alert others to a consumer issue and is backing up other organizations in this E-15 issue then I will at least give them some respect in the matter for standing up after their own investigations and making some noise even if it will probably do no good because the majority of people in the United States have ceased to give a rats behind long ago.
Oh but I bet if we had a rash of random front brake rotors cracking or foot pegs falling off on any particular brand of motorcycle you might ride most would have their junk in a bunch and wanting to hang somebody.
Oh but this is only fuel that helps to power your modes of transportation so that is ok.
Oh by the way did you know that the A.A.A. is also working behind the scenes on a lot of other issues that effect both motorists and motorcyclists alike.

I know, it's baaaad. I am glad that AAA is talking about it. And Owenbrau, how many people do you have that much faith in? Go check with your local mechanics and see how smart people are when it comes to vehicular maintenance and simple things like oil level, tire pressure, washer fluid, fuses etc. Hell, I have seen many people wash their car with the windshield squeegees at gas stations.
You must hang around with a lot of smart people, cuz there are herds of stoopid out there.

AAA? Good for getting a jumpstart, towed, or lock out service, otherwise totally worthless...at least in my opinion. They won't even stop sending me their crappy regional magazine that is now based on the concerns on Long Island and Manhattan, instead of CNY, despite my protestations.
