Your warranty is not void using E10.

This has been about more than just E15. As for E15, the EPA's testing showed no problems in cars from 2001 on. Where are the manufacturers tests? Most of the cars the EPA approved for it are out of warranty anyway. All I see are claims, just like I only see claims of damage to cars by E10.

btw, if voiding the warranty justifies banning the sale of it, I guess that means all the mods we put on our bikes ought to be banned and not allowed to be sold.

I think you're missing our point. While E fuels may be better for the environment, there's no disputing that Ethanol is not good for most of our vehicles (cars are only small part of the equation), and decreases our fuel mileage. And, it's being rammed down our throats.

Cars and light trucks are the vast majority of gasoline-powered vehicles on the road, and almost 80% of those are newer than 15 years old. Motorcycles are a very small proportion of the total, and most are new enough that they are rated for E10. Decreased fuel economy with a cheaper fuel is a net gain anyway. and ethanol is dramatically cheaper than gasoline. And were you aware that the cost to manufacturers to make a vehicle Flex-Fuel (E85 compliant) is less than $150 per?

Other countries are managing just fine with ethanol fuels. Why do you imagine we can't? And yet, I'm told I'm the one drinking the koolaid.

get rid of corn as a feed stock. That ends most of the issue right there. Price comes down too.

Switchgrass. Sugar cane residue, like Brazil does. Make the switch to cellulosic production and there are any number of non-food sources. And the technology is ripe. Get rid of the corn subsidy, it's just corporate welfare anyway, benefiting agri-business and not small farmers.

Maybe I'm confused, I thought you meant stop using corn as animal feedstock. If you meant alternative ethanol sources, I agree.

Using E15 will void the warranty on my 2012 Toyota. Harley Davidson just came out and said no E15 in any of their bikes as well.

An excerpt from a Fox News report:

"Only flex-fuel vehicles designed to burn fuel blends that contain up to 85 percent ethanol, 2013 model year Fords, 2012 Model year GM cars and Porsches built since 2001 are specifically approved by their manufacturers to use E15. BMW, Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota and Volkswagen have already said that their warrantees will not cover E15-related damage, while eight others, including Ford and GM, say E15 use may void coverage on unapproved cars. That leaves just 12 percent of the vehicles on the road fully compliant with E15, according to the Alliance."

I had heard this too but cannot get a hold of their Fall News Letter stating as such. I would like to get a hold of one to post up at the local shop where my bike is being built.
