Any Australian wine drinkers?
I am enjoying a really nice Australian wine with my dinner this evening. It is a 2003 Shiraz from Rosemount Estate. It is really lucious and full bodied, and has aged well.
Are any of you Aussies imbibers and, if so, do you have any recommendations as to wines or wineries I should be on the lookout for?
In my current collection, I have a couple of wines from Yalumba, a 2004 Cabernet/Merlot from Rosemount, a 2009 Barossa Shiraz from Schild Estate, a 2008 Barossa from Chateau Tanunda, a 2010 Shiraz from Shoofly,& a 2009 Shiraz/Cabernet/Merlot from Clancy's.

Not much rubbish comes out of the Barossa. There is some dodgey stuff made in the valley I live in (The Hunter), but there is some top shelf stuff too.
I doubt you'd be able to get any, but look out for Mudgee wines. I particularly liked a winemaker called Frog Rock.

I'm no wine expert, but the local grocery carries some decent wines from Oz.
Black Swan and a few others. Again, I'm no expert on "fine", but they are good and affordable.

Yellowtail? Lol... Yuk. They serve that stuff on cheap airlines. Other than that, I don't think anyone with a choice drinks it.
I drink a lot of wine. Lately I've been dealing with quantity more so over quality, but if I'm feeling rich, I do enjoy a Pinot Noir from the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.

There's some good stuff from Maggie River but it's hard to find in the States. Most of the stuff sold here is from the lower right part of Oz.

Bo, my local wine shop has 3 wines from the Mudgee region. The wineries are Bushranger (Shiraz), Robert Oatley (Shiraz), and Tik Toc (Chardonnay). Do you know anything about those wineries?
