In the extremely unlikely circumstance that you should ever have to face an armed, aggressive female assailant, your chivalry would place you at a serious disadvantage. It's usually the female of the species that is the most violent when they go into the 'protect/attack' mode.

Since the thread has drifted a bit over to WWII; I'll take a small liberty. Some of the best snipers fielded by the Soviet Union during "The Great Patriotic War" were young women. I would imagine that it takes a strong resolve to pop some-one's head like a melon at 200 yards. See the links below:

I'm pretty sure that one of the best WWII Soviet fighter pilots was also a woman....can't think of her name right now.

Although given that we had (slightly)less pilots shot down, recovered more of them and built more planes almost every month throughout the battle of britain it may not have been quite so desperate as all that, much as I'd like to believe it.

There is fantastic testimony at the Nuremberg trials as to why the battle for Briton was more epic to the Germans than you, as a Brit, seem to give the battle credit for.

They had their landing craft, troops, planes and occupation troops ready. Hitler thought you to be a joke like the French, Belgians and other puny little kingdoms. At that stage he still had a few brain cells that worked and when his fat buddy couldn't make you surrender Hitler thought he would take on the Russians.

Its not that it wasn't the turning point where invasion of britain became impossible its that it wasnt nearly as close a run thing as people were lead to believe (and still believe) for propaganda purposes.

It was epic but from the beginning of the attacks it was basically unwinnable, their transition to attacking cities just lost it faster.

Yeah, turns out I was wrong it's just a conspiracy theory.

I liked this bit from an article I read:

The EU crafts 0 laws in britain, the UK parliament is the only body that can craft laws, it has just agreed to pass parallel legislation to that created by the EU.
