Levis 505's no longer...
Has anyone else noticed this travesty? After buying and wearing 505's for years Levis has buckled to the trendies' and altered the basic fit. No longer "fits at waist" it's now "fits beow waist" which is not what this old guy is used to. Another tradition gone to the winds.

Can't speak to the fit, but the material has been noticeably thinner and cheeper for years.
I've got 15 year old Levis that are still thicker than a new pair.

Eh, I stopped wearing Levis when they moved production out of the USA.

My last pair of Levis is from around about the same time (thanks to my brother for bringing them back from the US) .
I've only just replaced them .The jeans over here are crap in comparison and I will be surprised if they last a couple of years .

I wear 560's. just bought a couple new pairs. They still make them the same. However, I have noticed they are making the waist tighter...

I just buy my jeans from Costco. They fit well and are thick denim. I don't have to buy new very often, even if I work in them. The bonus is that they only cost around $13.00. It's the Costco Kirkland brand.

That's just wrong. Surely the fact that they fit well, have thick denim, last well and only cost $13 pales into insignificance beside the stylistic faux pas of not having a Levi's label?

When I was in the Army, I saw that some guys would iron a crease down the front of the leg. Never understood that one.

I noticed the same thing with the 501's, which is what I wear.
But I suspect the real culprit is myself in that my waist appears to have moved upward and outward forcing the jeans lower. But that could just be me...
