I know on my Sprint the stock boat anchor definitely raised the COG. With the Tridents in there, not nearly as much.
There is some underseat heat generated from it though, but its manageable. I do LOVE the look, but maybe a low pipe option would be nice, I do like the low pipe on the S3, that seems to be all the rage right now.

In sheer sexiness, the Triple Tridents poking out the back of my Sprint beats all other options hands down!!!

I wonder what Erik Buell thinks about this trend, seeing as he was putting the exhaust under the engine for over a decade.

I must like under seat exhausts. The 675 has ceramic coated titanium Arrow. The 99 day 955 has a black widow. The 02 day 955 has a power max. The other 99 also has a power max. And the Sprint, punched out pipes and wrap up the tail pipe to the muffler to save the right leg. Yes Lefty, I have heat wrap on my bike,

The ST also has heat shield insulation on bottom of seat. I am trying to work a trade for the new 675R and will be sad that the underseat exhaust look is gone but tickled pink about new power and handling.

I've never really been a fan...sometimes they look OK, but in general I like the asymmetrical look of a side exhaust....a single underseat pipe just looks like a big arsehole on a bike...which I guess is essentially what it is anyway, but no-one likes an arsehole.
