Woodfordes 'Wherry' (from the Woodfordes Brewery in the Norfolk Broads, Woodfordes 'Norfolk Nog', Adnams 'Southwold' Bitter, and from a bottle.....Adnams 'Broadside', Wychwood 'Hobgoblin', Badger 'Tanglefoot' and 'Fursty Ferret'.
If I can find it, Marstons (I think!) 'Old Rodger' is one to tackle this time of year. Rum stuff, Bor! Thick and licouricey.
For a Lager, Bud is my preferred beer. The rice makes it smooth and refreshing when ice cold.
Cider, only Aspall make good cider. Their Premier Cru will make you fall over.
My Wife likes all these too. Not many girls like real ales, but my Missus can wind them into her lol.

Beer allows you to transition through the "zone of truth". Your mind is all confused when you are sober. Prejudice, lack of confidence and ennui rule the sober mind.
As you consume beer, one after the other, you pass through the "zone of truth" where all mysteries are solved, all women are hot, and the skies are not cloudy all day.
You do your most imaginative work while in the zone of truth, but it is short lived, because the zone requires a continuous flow of beer to keep the lamps aglow, which soon dim as the flow of beer drowns the flame of truth and beauty and all becomes blurry and uncertain, just as it is when you are sober.
So, be prepared...take notes and have lots of witnesses as you move rapidly through the zone, because it's truth is fleeting, and the fall is steep, and all those hot women will soon cool down, and the empties will rattle around the floor reminding you that the truth is a transient...

Used to be able to get it out here at some stores on the left coast but it seems to have vanished. Please do tell where you get yours!
Right now I am drinking some nice oatmeal stouts from Sam Smith and Ninkasi.

I've tried several and usually tour the world of beer every summer with the neighbor. The liquor store in Canada has a huge variety at all times. But my favorites are:
Innes Gunn
Leffe dark
St. Peters
Fullers
Amsterdam Bone Shaker. If you can get a hold of this one give it a go.

I would argue that Americans are coming more and more to appreciate good beer. I was watching a documentary on how many breweries existed in the US before prohibition. Then after prohibition, we started moving toward the mass produced commercial beer, brewed with fillers. We became "Water Lag-ed" (my own term).
The movement now, is that craft breweries are popping up all over the country at alarming rates! I can't believe how crowded some of the tap rooms and brew-pubs are getting. A couple of weeks ago, I was at Great Divide and it was standing room only!

I love beer! Or anything with alcohol in it. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to it! I might break out in jail, insane asylum, or the cemetery. Do miss it

Will try about anything but lights..why bother?
New favorite is from Nashville. a very hoppy IPA
Some of their other stuff is crap, but they got this one right!
This brew is an India Pale Ale by style, but that is where the similarity to most IPAs ends. Each consecutive batch of Hop Project is brewed with a different blend of spicy, aromatic hops, never using the same blend twice. It's a Hophead's dream come true! Check the bottled on date and our blog to decode what specific hop varieties we used in that batch.
