Interesting. I like Stephen Fry. Kingdom, is a favorite.
His thesis might be true in general but there are lots of exceptions, I think

No, I was yanking your chain, although apart from Tim minchin (I think), I can't recall a comic I would identify as being Australian. (Does crocodile Dundee count)
I do think Stephen fry is spot on though, from "some mothers do 'ave em", "citizen smith", "rising damp", through to "two pints of lager and a Packet of crisps", or "spaced" there's a lot of losers in our comedy.
