A Good Start

I took my wife out for her first ride. She's kind of a "nervous Nellie" so it's a big step for her. She did great. Of course I took it easy, and she got used to the speed. She held on really tight, not a bad thing. She's a great passenger. Totally neutral.

Just a fifteen minute hop to a local coffee house then back. Next time a little further. My long term plan is to buy a proper tourer, and make some nice memories.

No way! You can't tour on a Bonnie, it's too small. You need a full honk tourer with a radio, heated this-and-that and an espresso maker.

Oh, I wasn't talking about you, Lee. It was that other guy, IBALEE, whom I was talking about.

With him it was always Goldwing this and Goldwing that and "I can make espresso as I ride along." Bloody annoying if you ask me.

Way to go GTO

My wife has never been on a bike before two weeks ago and she is in her 50's. So she bought me/us a 2011 Speedy so she would feel more comfortable than my Suzie 450L. She really likes it. Bought her a jacket helmet and chaps and she is ready to ride anytime the temp gets above 45. Gotta love'em...

I took my wife gear shopping too before our ride. You know...women...shopping. I think it helped. If nothing else, riding gives her an excuse to wear leather. Well, another excuse.
