On second thought that would be a stretch for some here. Just keep on ranting about the downward spiral of your living conditions and refuse to look beyond the single thing you seem to hate the most.

Single thing I hate the most? Snakes.
Other than that, I don't know what you're on about.

Your knowledge of the history of the American depression is left out of your statement. 1936 through 1940 standard of living rose for all with out the war. It may have taken ten years but the move from agrian to industrial was in full swing.

So now the U.S.A. was responsible for all the destruction in WWII. What are you smoking?

Wasn't trying to sound like The U.S. was the only country in the war but as far as industrialized and not suffering any infrastructure damage we (the U.S.) came out pretty good.

To be fair the US did do rather a lot of the bombing of non UK based stuff.
Mostly because we couldn't afford as many bombers as you.

people complaining about the high cost of labor driving corporations to china, how many of the products now made in china are cheaper? the costs have gone down drasticly for the manufacturers, but the costs have remained the same or gone up. the only thing that hasnt changed is the greed driving all this.
on the subject of labot costs, how many of the gas stations which have no one there, only pumps that use cards, have cheaper prices? No people at the station, onlythe same price for gas.

Yes, it was, but you have to admit, it got one hell of a kick in the pants from the demand for goods and materials during and immediately after the war. As was mentioned above, the U.S and Canada were just about the only industrialized nations that came through relatively unscathed, so we pretty much had the markets cornered.
I could have meant "we" as in just the U.S. or just the allies, but also could be speaking in the most broad sense and referring to all the countries embroiled in the war. I'll let you decide how narrow-minded and/or ignorant you think I might be.

In 1936 the world was gearing up for war so it's influence cannot be completely discounted.
