I think if Triumph was originally an American company and moved off shore it would be more ironic.

I really wanted to buy american, looked at an HD ... nope not for me and not to open another can of worms, how much of their bikes are american anyways...... Second choice was our allies the brits ( same argument how much of their bikes are actually British)... so I can't win, but I will try to buy US when I can and if it fits me, life isn't black or white and neither is a purchase decision.

What is really ironic is the inability of some to understand a euphemism when they read it.
Substitute "buy USA" for any country you live in that is losing jobs and where the standard of living is declining. Substitute any country's name for "USA" where the unemployment is going up because of out sourcing.
On second thought that would be a stretch for some here. Just keep on ranting about the downward spiral of your living conditions and refuse to look beyond the single thing you seem to hate the most.

Lest we not forget our "standard of living" was mostly a false economy that existed for not too long, because we had bombed most of the factories of the rest of the industrialized world into oblivion. They all needed stuff to rebuild, and we were basically the only place in the world they could get it.
So, I guess historically speaking, GW Bush had the right idea, he just went after the wrong countries.

Do I really need to explain my comment, and that the second part was mostly "tongue-in-cheek?"
