Until you've driven a Miata in anger on a track, you really have no idea what it's capable of. They're actually really fun and competent cars. If they had ever done a coupe version, I may well have bought one.

I will admit there is a certain stigma associated with them though.

I don't see the Abarth as a hair dresser's car either. Maybe the lesser models, but that's like comparing a V6 Mustang with a GT.

I rented a Miata for a couple of weeks years ago, and my sister-in-law has had a few of them which I've also driven....great, fun little cars BUT...there's not enough legroom in them for me and I'm only average height.
