Mate, thanks for asking, I appreciate it. I live in Helensvale and we have Mount Tamborine just behind us and due to some freak land pattern, the storms always seem to fork and split around my area, half goes west and wrecks the Hinterland and half goes east and hits the coast, ie Surfer`s Paradise, Broadbeach etc. Helensvale never seems to get hit. When I lived in Nerang, about 8km`s up the road, I used to get smashed every time, trees down everywhere and you find your garden shed 2km up the road on top of someone`s house etc

Brisbane (80km up the road) got wrecked, so I imagine DaveM is without power...

Brisbane copped 4000 lightning strikes, here`s a pic from this morning...

I used to love storms as a kid too. I never really understood what they cost. Mum couldn't keep my inside. We had 5 acres in NW Sydney and water courses would flow everywhere. Lightning hit a big gum during one storm and the shock knock me onto my arse. That slowed me up a bit.
