Ride it was a lame attempt at humor and top boxes....and those with top boxes can do great distances...obiviously it failed.....

Well.
That was all good fun, and we all had a jolly good laugh.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, so this bagger......
Actually, I don't have any more to say on it. Not my kind of bike, but that's not the point. I can totally see that it really fits very well into a certain bike market. Honda make a good motorcycle, and this one will be no exception in that regard.

I'm interested, and open to suggestions for a schedule. It's pretty easy for me to schedule time off. What do you figure, 8 days?

Yes, leave the saturday of Labor day weekend, ride down on whatever tour route we decide. Get to Taos thursday night. Play in Taos friday and saturday, then ride back to Mn sunday and monday. Two long days there, but there is a way we should be able to do it in 2 days without spending too much time on slab.
I'm going to set up an evening meeting about in january or february, so any interested RATs can come and see what it's about, but I am pretty sure we won't have a large Mn contingent going.
However, I am pretty sure our Mindoro cut ride "whetted the whistle" for a couple of guys to do some longer rides. Some of them didn't think you could ride that much in one day and still have a good time and some good stops.
I'll let you know when I set the meeting up - I might do it the weekend of the bike show.
Bit off topic here - sorry about that.

Agreed.
If not for the limiits of vacation time, we'd never ride the slab again. Even though my wife & I already get five weeks a year.
On our Colorado trip this year we crossed the length of Kansas and western Oklahoma on the slab. Except for a few momentary glimpses of interesting sights, it was relentlessly monotonous. Some day we'll ride to places like Yellowstone and Yosemite, but only after we're retired and have the time to do it right.

I like it. It's a little heavy, but looks like a blast to ride.

While it's true parts of both of those states can be pretty boring, they also have their scenic spots. If you ever head this direction again, I will be happy to steer you to some of those spots; including some twisty and hilly roads in the Texas Panhandle that not many believe exist. Then if you are up for the best motorcycle roads in Texas, you have only to venture into the hill country around San Antonio, Leaky, Vanderpool, and Campwood.
As for the GW Bagger, I like it pretty good but would like to see the same bike (lines, fairing, bags, windscreen, etc.) about 3/4 that size with a flat four 1200cc weghing in at around 600lbs. Now that would be cool.
