Yeah, I think that's the answer. After reading all your comments and careful consideration, I'm going to go ahead and like it.
It's a big bike for sure, but that picture accentuates it a bit. Here is another picture of chisel-jaw on it, with a more neutral camera perspective:

Another example of Honda being able to build a bike that makes certain folk weak in the knees with longing.
The thing weighs 2 tons, only guys as big and tough as Lee can handle them (look what the current tiny gwing just did to his shoulder) and you need a ticket just to board one.
As big as the new Trophy is it is still able to fit into a standard parking spot and has no need for reverse gear.

Don't the rider's shins bump into the cylinder head on a Goldwing?

Not true I'm afraid. I went out on a ride once with a couple of Tie-pilots maniac friends. One of them was a little dude riding a Gold Wing, and he threw that thing around with no trouble at all. I couldn't shake him at all on my Bonneville. He was simply a better rider than me. I hate to admit it, but there it is.

That guy was good, and fast. Maybe not reasonable, but talented.
There are folks out there who don't seem to let the weight of the wing bother them at all, they make it look like a nimble little thing.

Wait a minute. It's a Honda. Where are all of the boring comments.
I like the look of it. Dare I say it looks exciting?

You meet (some) of the nicest people on a Honda. Although I have no idea where that myth comes from.

Crazy fast. Made me jealous at how he handled that lump of a bike, he did.
Which is the main reason I said I never wanted to ride with him again. That stuff about Ties buddies being hooligans and poor group riders was just a cover for my embarrasment and dissatisfaction with the whole sorry affair.
At least we got to go to that diner in the evening.

Just the way it goes sometimes. But I don't have to hype up my riding on the interwebz like some of you guys, who like to pretend how great you are.
