I don't know how it is in your state but here in the land of loud, slow moving HD trains, we have Ice houses every 50-100 miles. (beer joints for bikers)
There may well be the same percentage of different type bikes as there are percentage of sales of those models parked in front of each bar late in the afternoon. Sport bike riders are just as prone to ride hard and stop to have a brew as the slow poke HD rider. I don't believe that the V-Twin cruiser crowd owns the drink and drive crown. Just saying
I feel certain that if this tragedy had happened here in the UK, it would be headline news. The authorities have, quite rightly, relegated drink driving to a status somewhere between child molesting and necrophilia. It seems that a similar approach by the US authorities is in order. "Rows of bikes parked outside bars?" What's that all about? Are these guys retarded? What are your traffic cops doing about it? I lost a very dear friend to a drunk driver back in the 70's, when it was commonplace to drink and drive. I still think about her every day. I still get mad. This "biker" needs to see a shrink while he's in gaol, as he obviously has a problem.
