What does CB stand for?
As well as my Tiger 955i I got a second hand CB 500s 2003 because I couldn't run to a Bonneville. The 500 is a great bike, sounds good, handles nicely and is light and nimble on the twisties. So not all Hondas are boring I think.

I love it. Will not buy one but it would certainly look nice next to my CB500F. Maybe I will sell the CB500. HMMM....

I learned to ride on a '75 CB750, and maybe it was because the bike was already over thirty years old and had never had any major work done to it, but I would hardly call it boring, that bike changed motorcycling forever. This CB1100 is the modern reincarnation of that bike, and I love it.

The CB1100 appeals to me.
It's now on my "bikes I'm interested in" list. Not at the top of the list -- Tiger 800, Tiger 1050, Street Triple, a newer Sprint, all come ahead on the list -- but it's on it.
I just wish it were easier to test ride new motorcycles. Most dealerships around here seem to only have one or two demo models, if at all, and it's whatever they're pushing that year, not necessarily the brand or model you're interested in. So it's the used market if you want to try before you buy...

The bike languishes on dealer lots until they are given away. Honda ends importation after two years of dismal sales.
Three years after pulling the bike from the market, everyone goes mad for it and wonders why Honda stopped selling them here.

You may be right of course. I hope not, as I think a simple multi-purpose bike like this is a good thing, and this one happens to look nice as well. Maybe this will be what it takes to bring the UJM back to these shores.

Personally, it does nothing for me. Looks very plain to my eyes. A simple classic bike that looks....functional.

That sounds eerily familiar to how things played out for the CB-1 (400cc - I bought one and loved it), the Hornet (I think they called it the 599 here), and the 919. I'm actually surprised Honda is sticking their neck out on this again. It's going to get chopped.

I thought of all those bikes, but they didn't quite have the style/vibe that this one does. They were more 'techy' looking and were pitched almost like naked or hooligan bikes more like the S3. And they were a poor comparison there as they were just too sterile.
It may well die on the vine like so many before it, but I'm hoping for the best. It certainly gets my attention more than the 599/919. They never captured my attention regardless of how good they may have been.

The first thing I thought when I saw it was, "Wouldn't it be cool to see a 650 or 500 version of it."
