The weather in Florida is about as perfect as any rider could wish for- So I took one of my "go-to" nice rides that normally includes one exit on I-95 North, then a lazy curl back through San Marco to the SR-13 loop (one of the best rides in Florida).
Turns out there was a major accident that I just learned was a
6 motorcycle crash (everyone lived, thankfully) that shut down the highway for about three hours. I could tell something was up as soon as I hit the on-ramp.
The road was closed just before "my" on-ramp, so with no traffic coming up behind me and not another exit/ramp for about 2-3 miles, I had a super-slab playground, exiting and doubling back over and over again.. All I had to worry about were a few fellow travelers using my ramp, but I was much faster than they were.
I hit the tonne half a dozen times in 2 hours, probably topped out 112 or so depending on the pitch of the freeway.
Fastest day of my life ever- Wishing those crashed guys a speedy recovery.
