You guys all make some great points...but I am still indecisive on which one I will be getting...that said I watched the utube video on the 1200 tiger...I like this as well. I especially like a drive shaft ....no worries about belts getting gummed up or chains.......my past few bikes have all have drive shafts and I hve been very happy with that. I have to look to see what panniers they have for the tiger....Nicks comment about the size was legit..but one I am a big guy and two I plan on riding this on the highway and on the tundra rocky road heading north....not as much off roading.....maybe around the dessert aea once in a while as well...

Lee - my advice - stay away from the dessert area, unless you want to be a bigger guy!

There's a ton of great bikes out there. I guess the best bike is

a. the one you own (cos you ain't gonna ride otherwise)
b. the next one you're gonna own

Even though the triumph is a shaft drive it is still better than an air cooled farm tractor.

I agree, HAP. A Harley would be a bad choice.

To get to the tundra, across it, and back again. No wuckers. So good they would not give one to Ewan McGregor.
