If that was your helmet and your face didn't need a hundred stitches, didn't you just answer your own question? Just my opinion and not looking to start a pi$$ing match.

I know what I think. Just trying to come up with an interesting topic we can all discuss. Hopefully without name calling or ill wishes.

I wear a full face, but it's as much to save the public from my horrific face....

Well, it is a good try but after all these years we have a hard time chatting about darn near everything with out an argument.
Might try what color of high vis is more noticeable or the best sauce on pasta. Something tame. Not beet root or oil/tire types. You know?

Personally, my I can't see beyond or into the limits of my full face helmet so I doubt my peripheral vision would be better with a 1/2 or 3/4 helmet. I do know I'm more comfortable in a full face regardless of the climate. It's a no brainer for me, full face all the time. Open face means dehydration in warm weather, cold in cold weather. Exhaustion plays havoc on the mind and my full face helps protect from that. I don't think we need to mention road debris, etc. I think the only reason to wear less is for style.

How about suspenders (braces) or not with your riding pants? I have a lovely set of elastic suspenders with an American flag design. They came from Home Depot in the tool belt section!

I think it goes without saying suspenders are a poor choice and could choke you in an off. Suspenders with rulers marked on them say something about inadequacy much like a Cummings Dodge or Ford F350. That's all I have to say about that.
However, if your belly is the size of a basketball suspenders might be worth looking into if only to save the embarrassment of having your pants around your ankles and your tiny wiener exposed while pumping gas.

FWIW, the Arai has a wider field of view than others I've used. My opinion, but I think your observation about more peripheral vision with an open face helmet is a fallacy.
