These may not be your style, but I wear them for commuting/all day at the office or when just putt-putting around:

They are far better than your CT's. You said in an earlier post that the Lacostes didn't protect your ankle, implying that the CT's do somehow. I have news for you - they don't. If you doubt me, put them on and give your ankle bone the most gentle tap with a hammer.

For more serious riding I have these:

TCX S Race. I like TCX, because I have a wide foot, and they seem to fit me better than other brands. If your foot is less like a duck's than mine, your choices are much greater.

My real point, as was mentioned earlier, is you CAN find much better choices than CT's for riding for not that much more than you paid for them. The second part of my point is my less protective boots still get worn frequently. I didn't immediately consign the Cubes to the back of the closet, when I got the Races.

It's possible I'm just a marketer's dream, though; I wear golf shoes when I play golf, rugby boots when I play rugby, and motorcycle boots when I, well...you get the picture. I'm just much too fond of walking to trust the integrity of my feet to my riding abilities.

what i meant by that was that the locoste's come off me feet easily. The CTs wont. Not saying that they have some sort of magical protection. but at least they'll stay on.

Assuming they stay in one piece that is.

I'm no Taylor but I was given to understand that motorcycle gear was stitched specifically for more strength.

I wear Allegiance Footwear boots when I'm riding, or not.

Made in USA, reasonably priced and as comfortable as any other boots I've ever worn.

It's not often I drink those. Mostly I drink Sierra Nevada brews. If I'm not drinking that I'm drinking my home brew. Can't get much more economic than that.

Either way. I don't think my finances are your business. But maybe your right. Maybe I put my foot in my mouth and really asked for it.
Actually, you did make this about your finances, a couple of times. You keep insisting that you don't have enough money to buy the Gasolina boots.

WT, back to your original question, it all depends on your priorities.

- does it look good?
- is it comfortable?
- will it make me less likely to be injured in a spill?
- am I immune from having a spill?
- how much money am I willing to spend?
- how willing am I to risk injury when a simple gear choice could mitigate it?

You rate the importance of those questions and answers and make your choice. That is no one else's business (unless you ask for other people's comments)

For me, (well most times) I prefer to rate more for safety than looks or getting a cheap deal. I have had several bike spills over the years and this tends to make me feel less bulletproof. I know it can happen to me.

Other people make different choices. Up to them.

Regarding your shoes, they aren't a riding boot, they are a look, comfort, price shoe.

As a riding choice they will have as much protection as a sandshoe.

If you are willing to accept the consequences and risks (and advantages) of that then go for it, what other people think is their problem.

If you ask on a motorcycle forum for opinions on them as a riding boot, you will get opinions on them as a riding boot. Generally the responses will be negative as they basically have no more advantages as a riding boot than would a pair of sandshoes.

I wouldn't have bought these if i hadn't sold a part off my bike and had extra cash. I needed new shoes that would be more than ride shoes. that's what i got. If all i'd needed were ride boots i'd have asked around and i'm sure i'd have found cheaper boots with that 80.

However, i've already admitted that i opened my mouth and asked for this. Sorry i miss spoke. I'm wrong for buying those beers. I'm wrong for buying these CT's. I'm a young stupid kid that needs wiser people to crack down on me some times. I'll return the CTs and get a better boot. Thanks for pushing your oppinions on me. they really did change me.

On another note would you please PM me and tell me how you budget and afford all the desires of your heart so i can be more like you?

I've already admitted they arent the best ride boots. and have taken advice and am looking into a deal on a pair of boots from a member here. I feel like no matter what i say i'm going to get attacked for something. If its not my boots/shoes, it's my beer, or my money.

It just seams a little rediculous. In all seriousness. I'm sorry if i've been fired up or seamed heated. I'm just not used to it.

I'll apologize to anyone i've gotten of on the wrong foot with. I really do value and appreciate the knowledge on TRAT. i hope that i haven't ruined any reputation i had. I'm ducking out now.

Things i'll genuinely take with me.

Better boots saves ankes
Watch the laces
Have thicker skin
Expect answers i may not want to questions i ask.

Sorry again.
