Check this out!
I know it's been a while since I've posted, but that's only because I've been spending most of my time working and when I'm not working, I'm riding! After more than a year of joining the forum and lusting after a Triumph, I finally got one!! It's a 2009 America. I found it on Cycletrader with 4,230 miles on it and drove up to Dallas Fort Worth Honda with my trusty 2003 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 in tow to make the trade. They gave me $2500 on trade which isn't bad considering I only paid three grand for it on April 26th, put 11,701 miles on it and traded it for the America on August 31st. I've already put a little over 6,000 miles on the Triumph since I bought it, so needless to say, I've been living with it for a while, but I love it more each time I get on it! Anyway, here it is! Tell me what ya think!

Cool bike. It's a much better choice than a Honda Shadow.

Heck ya, that's a cool bike. Nice trade.
You're putting on monster miles, and after recovering from a wreck if I remember right. Good on you.

Congratulations on the Triumph. Sounds as if the Honda did you quit well. You got 11k mikes out of it for a song.

Yeah, I've been puttin' some pretty good miles in when I can, which is most of the time during this time of year. The leg is all healed up with the exception of some soft tissue scaring that make take some more time, but it hasn't hindered my ability to ride, work or enjoy any of the activities that make my life worth living. Let's see, it's not quite one year since I got my first bike and I put about 2500 miles on it before my crash. Then I got the Honda on April 26th and put 11,701 miles on it. Got the Triumph on August 31st and have put 6152 on it, so that's a total of 20,353 in a year's time. The average is actually more if you consider the months of recovery when I couldn't ride and not to mention I haven't been able to ride for more than a week because of this!!

And the Triumph has about 50% more power than the Honda.
It should be a pleasure to ride it instead of the lethargic Honda.

Oh, it has been more than a pleasure!! I still can't believe how fast it is for its size! Amazes me everytime I roll back the throttle! I've taken it up to 110 even with the saddle bags draggin' in the wind!! I'm stickin' with this one for a while. It's also nice to finally be an official member of the Triumph family. :-)
