And let's all admit it - if somebody posted a video of HD baggers complete with trailers on a road course, we'd all watch!

I agree totally.
In modern car racing, you don't have four wheel drifts, heel-toe downshifting, etc. It's very antiseptic, which leads to fascinations with off-track behavior and politics instead of the racing.

I'm in total agreement with your agreeing totally, for precisely the reasons you stated.
It used to be that you could SEE the handling differences as the cars cornered. Now, it's like watching slot cars.

I can get my GTi to tricycle if I try hard enough.

We still heel-toe and slide. I raced a SCCA A/Sedan car for many years because it was the closest to the real TransAm cars. Carbs, full unibodies. True. Radials don't like the slip angle that the old bias tires did years ago. Some fun you bet!
Some air under right front. 10B Road Atlanta

In that case, he probably didn't really drop it, It wasn't going fast enough and he just threw it down.

Don, there is a YouTube of a "run what ya brung" race on a quarter or eighth mile dirt track, featuring... wait for it, a whole bunch of good ol' boys on their full baggers, it is hilarious, must see if I can find it.

That was same opinion I've had for the past few years at Indy. That said, I very much enjoy going to the fair grounds and watching whose Harleys go around the big dirt oval.
