Talking I learnt to drive in one of these, pictures needed.

12 years old, in a mates paddoc bomb FE Holden.
Learnt how to get it into an drift, and out of a drift amongst other things.
Had great fun towing a bonnet (hood for you 'mericans) round on a rope and standing up and "surfing" on it round the paddocks.
Should be dead.

Note: -Not the actual car pictured...

I learnt to drive on this when I was twelve.

But this was the first car I drove, also in the paddock. I was too young for a license.

And SAME tractors, worked on a few of them, plus did some work with them in a prior life.

Can't say for sure how old I was when I actually learned to drive. I started out by sitting on Gramps' lap just steering, and learned to drive as soon as I could reach the pedals. But I know it was in a 1951 Chevy 5 window p/u exactly like this one...

If I squint real hard I can see a '55 Chevy.

Yeah, it looks like a '55 shrunk in the wash.

1975 Volvo 244. Pretty much this same color too. It was my parents first attempt at foreign cars after a long line of dubious Fords and Chevys.

I had some fun times learning to drive in that POS.

Note: not my photo, but I wish I had one of the one we owned.

I learned to drive in my mom's '87 Chevy Celebrity. It looked like this one but was a Classic, so it had a vinyl top:

It had the 2.5L Iron Duke (a.k.a Tech IV) four cylinder with...Wait for it...98 hp.
