12 years old, in a mates paddoc bomb FE Holden.
Learnt how to get it into an drift, and out of a drift amongst other things.
Had great fun towing a bonnet (hood for you 'mericans) round on a rope and standing up and "surfing" on it round the paddocks.
Should be dead.

Note: -Not the actual car pictured...

I learnt to drive on this when I was twelve.

But this was the first car I drove, also in the paddock. I was too young for a license.

Can't say for sure how old I was when I actually learned to drive. I started out by sitting on Gramps' lap just steering, and learned to drive as soon as I could reach the pedals. But I know it was in a 1951 Chevy 5 window p/u exactly like this one...

Correct, it is a GM car, obviously with style queues taken from Chevrolet. It is about 3/4's of the size of a Chev, I have seen quite a few with 350 Chev motors transplanted into them, they do up a treat, although they are getting pretty scarce now.

Can't wait to see what HAP posts...

1975 Volvo 244. Pretty much this same color too. It was my parents first attempt at foreign cars after a long line of dubious Fords and Chevys.

I had some fun times learning to drive in that POS.

Note: not my photo, but I wish I had one of the one we owned.

I learned to drive in my mom's '87 Chevy Celebrity. It looked like this one but was a Classic, so it had a vinyl top:

It had the 2.5L Iron Duke (a.k.a Tech IV) four cylinder with...Wait for it...98 hp.

Yeah, the vinyl top was pimp, as was the toy lightsabre stuck in the dash. You could hear it sliding around as you went around corners.

The 98 ponies weren't that bad when you consider my '81 Malibu's 3.8L V6 made 110.

1953 Chevrolet sedan. Very tall, very heavy, not very responsive, but very reliable (for the time).

MAZ 503 dump truck - My dad took me to construction sites when he had to work on saturdays. He operated throttle and brake and I, while sitting on his knees, turned the huge steering wheel (i was about 7 or 8)

First 'real' car i drove was my dads Audi 80 B2 (similar to the car pictured). Was his first ever car at age 37 (in 1990), after Die Wende.

I was behind one of those quite a while back and I was at first surprized to see one still on the road, then I noticed the vanity plate it read: "Vette"

Then I thought about all the poor Corvette owners  in the state going to the DMV and asking for that plate only to be told. "Sorry Sir, that's not available." Meanwhile this guy in the Chevette is laughing his arse off. :D
