Sitting Up Can't Sleep Shoulder Pain

I have had a round of sterioid shots in my shoulders and it settled down my right shoulder. I also had a pack of oral steroids as well, but my left sholder is extremely painful at night which is when you feel a rotator cuff tear the most. My orthopod wants me to get a MRI and I will be after tonight. It is looking like I may have torn my rotator cuff. I picked the right time of year for it at least I got to ride all year and I will only be off the bike for a short time if I need surgery.

I think the big ride prompted my shoulders to be inflamed but the damage was done allitle while back when I hoisted or muscled the Rocket up right. I did not let it fall over when I was stopped and after getting it up right my left shoulder wass sore for weeks. I may have torn a segment of my Rotatator cuff back then.

If I did I will be getting surgery which involves getting at least one stay screwed into the bone. Stays have a heavy ethibond type suture attached to them. Essentially acting as an anchor or a man made tendon of sorts for muscle. I have attached some photos of stays or anchors.

i know most of you will not be interested in this thread...but to be honest it is taking my mind of the discomfort and the exhaustion I am feeling right now. So I thought I would write about it. If I have to get the surgery I will be back riding in a short time. I have already started planning several IBA rides for next year.

Sorry about the shoulder. That second device reminded me of this:

Does your surgeon shop at Lowes?

I'm always interested in modern medicine, ESP the procedures for repairing wear and tear on our bodies.

I have 4 of those in the re-build of my left shoulder. Cool little rascals. Do the physical therapy though or it wont matter what you get done.

I tore the cuff in my right shoulder. It felt awfully beastly there for a long time, but I didn't have surgery. I'm sure surgery has improved since then though (this was 93 or so).

I was up a lot during the night as well with aching joints and aching pancreas after doing t he hay.

I think your 'Wing is too heavy, Lee. You should trade it for something smaller like Ride's new scooter.

You might have to learn to live without the espresso maker, though.

I like my bikes like I like my women: heavy and slow.

I should really update this:

Well mate, you've had the shots, you've tried the pills, there's only the suppositories to go...

I hope you can manage the pain till you get it fixed. I have a bum shoulder, but only in range of motion, so for now I'm good to go.
