Definitely going to need that sticker. Stopped at Wally World after work and when I was getting ready to leave two mouth breathers were getting into the truck next to me. The driver asked if I wasn't afraid someone would steal my Dewalt tool on the back. I'm serious.

I think they were just making "small talk" to get to know you. Scooters do that.

Yep, it was pretty much just like that.
Someone responded to my post on another forum about the squeaking. Seems it's likely the speedo cable bushing behind the instrument panel. Now if I can just figure out how to get that off. Probably have to tear all the front plastic off again.

Just think ride, if you spent one half the time and energy studying the Tiger, you would be the head of Triumph's repair division.

No need to study with the Tiger HAP, it just works and needs very little attention but then again it's only 5 years old. I'll be tearing into that soon enough though and I'm looking forward to working on something from this decade. It's a whole lot easier finding info on the Tiger than on the scoot, that's for sure.
Note: For those that followed my DIY heated gear thread...my liner quit on my this week, break in continuity somewhere in the heating wire. I removed the wire from my riding jacket liner and will be rewiring a separate lightweight warmup jacket tonight. Having the heavy liner wired on my Triumph jacket was a bad idea as I wear it every day even if I'm not using the heat. This light jacket can be warn under the T-jacket and has a mesh liner, the heat will transfer better through that I'm sure and since it won't be worn daily it'll hopefully last longer. I probably snagged the wire putting it on or off I'm thinking.

Everyone always says they started on a Harley or something, but scoots like this are closer to the truth. Enjoy!

There! That should solve any confusion about the contents of my top case.

Jim, how has the scoot been received down at the local?
Do you need to carry a large stick to keep the nubile barmaids away from it?
Is it the chick magnet that you imagined it to be?
Enquiring minds need to know.

I showed it how to get there on my first test run with legal paperwork. It was a Sunday and not many around so I didn't have to carry a big stick. I did notice a high school girl checking it out at the gas station a few weeks ago while I was fueling it up. Her dad gave me the stink eye.

Tore into the squeaky speedo issue tonight. Had to pull off a few pieces of plastic under the dash but was easy to access once that was done. Lubed it up and did time trials around the block with my face shield up for awhile. I think the squeak is pretty much taken care of. I'll ride it to work tomorrow to be sure. One more notch in the scoots repair list. So far the notches have been easy to carve. Note: the scoot is more fun with a few beers in the belly. I know, that's stupid stuff but it's a scoot and the garage requires beer to enter.
