I would voluntarily wear better gear if the manufacturers of that gear would recognize the fact that short, fat, 40-something women ride motorcycles. There are only a few companies that make plus size gear for women, and most of that is either of questionable quality, or custom made and far out of my price range. Helmets, gloves and boots are easy - but just try to find pants or a jacket!
For now I ride in a men's jacket that is too big in the shoulders, too long in the torso and has the sleeves rolled up twice at the cuff. I'm willing to bet that if I ever crashed, the armor would be sliding around anywhere except where I needed it to be.
OK, I'm done ranting at people who can't fix my problem and will try not to disturb the not political banter any more.
