Australia: The New Naughty

I am a little confused as to why, with all the Aussy members we have on the forum, not one has told us of this new moniker for their country.

Holy moly folks, you should be dancing in the streets. Yelling your lungs out. "We are naughty". I found out you were hiding this honor by reading, of all things, CNNNEWS.

Please share this honor with the rest of the world. Gads, at my age I think I would do lot to be known as "naughty".

Hap, you must have been reading the story about all the sex going on in the Olympic Village. Lots of 'rooting' for the Aussies there.

Hmm, lots of fit young people sleeping in the same village. No, that's not the perfect recipe for lots of sex.

I am so embarrassed. The entire news story I have been following had nothing to do with wonton soup, young Aussy athletes rooting or shagging a South Carolinian. Not even about the skimpiest bikinis of all on the Aussy girl volley ball team. (My eyes watered looking at them). No, no, no.

The news was a flair up about medal counts between North Korea and Australia. Seems the Aussy press, in order not to confuse folks had a chart with Nice Korea (for South Korea) and Naughty Korea (for North Korea) and the North Koreans took offense and responded world wide that they (the North) were not naughty but indeed the Australians were the Naughty, naughty ones. Seems the Aussy folks liked that moniker.

I am going to have to be careful how I read the slanted news from the web from now on as it looks as if it is slanted toward sex when it comes to OZ. A person never knows when the innocent mention of the square ROOT of an equation will send an Aussy into giggle fits. Sorry I caused so much ruckus.

What you mean "No lie."? I guess that means they are so fit it is all done vertically? Personally, the excitement causes my legs give way at the important moment, so I am best off lying.

Another good find HAP. Here is the salient point of the article.

An Australian newspaper found itself the focus of a 14-paragraph denouncement in the state-run North Korean media agency, KCNA.

The North Korean news agency lashed out at mX, a free commuter paper in three Australian cities, calling it sordid, foolish, bullying, degrading, incompetent, pitiful and rogue -- among other things.

If I may speak collectively for my country, we do find the rest of the World a little too serious at times. The Asian nations particularly find some sort of comfort in confusing our attitudes with racism which earns them no credibility whatsoever. Racist is just about the easiest "slam" you can serve anyone these days. And it is a good thing to recall that we are grown from fleets of criminals. Seriousness is not our trump suite.

And that my friend is what I think most people like about Aussies....one of the very few nations left whose people tell it like it is...no BS, no PC correctness, just say it how you feel and be done with it...and usually with a pretty good sense of humour thrown into the mix too!!

Then again..I did say 'most' people....I'm not one of them - most of you are on parole anyway.

Ohhhh there's heaps of PCBS down here now, it's everywhere, careful you might step in it. Down in Tassie there are hairy legged women running around in JC's getting married to each other, we have a (nominally) female PM, we are not allowed to make fun of people shuffling around covered up by bed sheets and we are obliged to be thankful for all the social ills that have been foisted upon us as we rescue half of the globe's refugee population.

I suggest everyone who yearns to experience the Australia we flogged to you in the Hoges/Laz Bingle ads to get here quick-smart before you can only read about it in history books.
