Odd. When I swing a leg over my Bonnie it doesn't care where it was made. It just goes down the road with a rider grinning from ear to ear.

All of the bikes are designed in England, so that's my vote.

Actually bought a car made in the US. Decided on a Chevy Sonic. Only major component source outside the US is the transmission. Assembled in Michigan. That was a major part of the decision making process.

An anecdote for the Welsh to highlight some Australian knowledge of the subject.

My insurance broker was called Llewellyn Jones. As she was filling out a form for my policy one afternoon I asked how long ago she came to Australia. She lifted her head and looked at me like I was a weirdo.

"I am Australian" she said proudly.

"Oh" I said.

"So were your parents Welsh?"

Same "What T. F. are you on about look"

"They're Australian too." she said. "Why would you think they're Welsh?"

"Dunno - just a hunch" I finished.

Personal anecdote: People haven't a clue as to nationality or heritage over in the states. I'm about as Scottish as it comes, family first names include Finlay, Angus, Robert, Stewart, Douglas and others. I have red hair and about as pale as it comes. Yet ever St. Paddy's I'm assumed to be Irish.

A few of us could tell with our eyes closed. A brogue and a burr sound vastly different.

EDIT: Och, you're ethnic Scot, not from Scotland.

To be fair, there's a lot of historic connections between the Scots and the Irish, but the stereotype of the Irish having ginger hair and freckles is a bit of an oddity...most are dark-haired, only about 10% are red-haired....I guess that's still a pretty high percentage compared to anywhere else though.
