They play this every morning during the news and I end up humming it all day. I notice they don't show anybody getting eaten.

Many tourists come here looking for adventure. & the presence of man eating critters just adds to the danger for them. I often wonder whether that scares off more tourists than it attracts. But on the up-side most of our tourists are out-going adventurous types, who you'd gladly share a beer with. & all the nervous Nellies stay well away from the place.

Seems to be a very exciting place but I bet they have real cities and homes with running water and you don't really have to wade through the crocs and great whites unless you want to.

The nearest city to me is Cairns (pop 150,000). It's built on reclaimed mangrove swamp, with massive drains running across the city. There are estimated to be over 1000 crocs living within the city limits, & they're regularly seen cruising in the drains.
PS It's illegal to kill them!

So maybe I was wrong. I guess it's possible.

Most of the population live in the big cities in the south of the country. There are some dangerous things in them, like snakes & spiders. But it's the more ubiquitous dangers of big city living, traffic, muggings, drive-by's, pollution etc, that are the biggest risk in them. Anywhere north of the Tropic of Capricorn is croc country. But less than 20% of the population live there.

I got a chance to talk to Dog this morning about the down under folk inviting us unwary Americans to visit and how well we will be treated. I read him some of the nasties you guys pointed out and he added a million or so more.
My hat is off to all of you for living in what I only can describe as the most dangerous place on earth.
So, here is the deal. Beings I am to old to chance death by simply being in your country, I say to all of you who wish to visit the much safer States, come on, I will gladly point you on the way to a very safe, pleasant and wonderful journey.

I've wanted to visit Australia since I was a little kid. I still want to visit.
Maybe I'll do a Dog-style (Doggie-style?) tour down under.
