The "Where I went on my bike today with pictures" thread

Did you have a nice bike ride today? Don't feel like writing a full blown ride report? You enjoyed it though and wouldn't mind mentioning it?

Well good show, but we want pictures.

Today I took the Tiger out for a lunch ride. I decided that I like the Delta Diner in Wisconsin, so I rode there.

What a fabbo March day, unseasonably lovely and warm. There is still ice on the lakes and rivers, but it was in the mid 70's (F) today. It's amazing to be able to ride in Mn and Wi in March, to actually a be hot is unbelievable.

A few pics of the ride through the Northwoods:

A few pics of the Delta Diner and lunch:

This is the PBLT - The Perch, Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwich. Simply fantastic. 1500 calories, but I planned for it.

Good day out. Lovely and refreshing, and a 380 mile round trip. Because there was still ice on the lakes, there were no people pulling boats around, also the resorts are still shut, and it isn't tourist season yet. All the roads were freakin' empty! .

So there we are, I had fun.

So where did you go today?

Hopefully this thread can just be a nice rolling picture thread with fun places in it.

Good idea prop.

spadoman and I met up at the Pier 4 in Alma, WI, worked up north of Mondovi, back down to Pepin, up to Stockholm for PIE, the Rustic Road off of Rt AA from Maiden Rock with some water crossings, and so on.

Ice is out on Lake Pepin, it hit 80 today. It was odd sitting there on a perfect day, and all the boats were are still pulled out, the marina is empty.

Piauma to Stunt rd, then off to my parents for lunch

It rained here yesterday, so there was quite a bit of water on the road, and some gravel in the turns, but it was still a bit chilly out, and not much traffic, was well worth it to catch the waterfalls off of Piauma, and the last pic is from my parents garden, quite tranquil, the food and beer is free, so how can I complain?

Great Pics Prop!
What an extremely rare treat to be out and about in the north woods of Wisconsin on such a date.
I recall being up at my folks' cabin east of Hayward in very early April one year in the early 80's when we had a weekend spike of temps in the mid 70's, and the near shore ice was honey combed. We put on our chest waders and harvested ice blocks to cool our beers as we sunbathed on the shore.
I'm envious of your day, and it should go down as a "Dear Diary.." event.

Triumph Day 2012, Johannesburg

Yesterday was a public holiday here and we had our Triumph Day in a local park.

There were lots of people.

A whole range of Meridan & Hinckley Trumpeys was on display. This is a 1916 225cc Triumph Junior.

A 1960 Thunderbird 650.

Lunch was good!

Yesterday saw the first unveiling of the Tiger 1200 in this country and here I'm trying it out for size.

I celebrated my bike's 10th birthday.

It was a fun way to spend a public holiday and my thanks go to Triumph za & the local dealers who organised the event.

DaveB.
