Speed TV also ruminates on the future of Australians in top-flight racing saying that the Aussies are in for a dry spell.

What do you reckon is going to happen Lee?

What would be the ramifications to Honda if they just pulled out for one year? I reckon that could sink Dorna. If you have a look at this report;

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2012/Nov/121102z.htm

.......you could get the impression that maybe Ezzie has painted himself into a corner and is getting desperate. The Japs can be easily underestimated in standoffs like this.

I didn't even read the Aussie report. That outcome was terrifyingly obvious when Proddie racing dried up. But we have renewed hopes now. As much as it sickens me to have to kowtow to fcuken reality media, Daz Beattie is hosting a "Australia's got talent - So you think you can ride - Ultimate rider - Big Brother elimination series" and the winner gets a Honda contract in the junior local ranks. We are addressing the issue! We'll be back to satisfy all the real racing fans.

My impression is that international television contracts are easily broken if the Dorna crew can't field a race card that draws "X" amount of viewers to see the commercials. Have no idea how big a number "X" is but if the Japanese Susuki team opps to go only one year and Honda stays out a year maybe the Japanese are not as stupid as Ezpeleta thinks they are.

The France family had to change management of the AMA because no one wanted to broadcast such a stupidly run race series with pace cars coming onto the track.

Bol, the speed article points out how remarkable the Australian heritage in MotoGP is, considering the country's whole population is smaller than that of Southern California.

It is not the small population that makes things hard (we're all virtually superheroes anyway - see threads on Doggie and Jonk), it's the remoteness of our home to the Mecca of bike racing. They say a greatest strength and a greatest weakness is commonly the same thing. I agree here, our remoteness makes us different, well it used to, globalisation is diluting that phenomenon.

Nakamoto is clearly circumspect, while Ezzie likes to shoot off his mouth and carry on his campaign to "reform" Moto GP in interviews and press releases. Which one will be effective and who will compromise? I think Nakamoto will ultimately win because he seems serious about abandoning GP if they go to a standard ECU. I think Yamaha will follow suit. There won't much excitement if it is just Ducati and a bunch of CRT bikes running around the track. IMO only.

That's a different spin on what I've been banging on about since CRT's were heralded. Once Stoney said "This Sux", the writing on the wall had been chiselled into the Gyprock.
