Here in the Mile Hi City the temp's have been in the mid 50's to upper 60's for the past couple of weeks. Hard to believe for late November and now early December. I've been riding pretty much everyday in town and I have also made a few trips up to the hills on canyon runs. Today I'm meeting some riding buddies and we are off to the hills to run the canyons....Wahooooo!!!! Happy December 2nd!!!!

This morning I awoke a little after dawn to the sound of the heaviest rain yet in this storm. I looked out to find the balcony off my master bedroom flooded and all the gutters overflowing into it. So I got to spend about 20 minutes clearing drains. At least it's not particularly cold.

I got new gutters last year and somehow they seem more prone to collecting crap/clogging up than my old ones. Not happy about that as I have several redwood trees and a gum tree near the house that are good at making a mess. And since it's a two-story, getting to the gutters in most places is even more fun.


Strangely, the girlfriend slept right through not only the sound of the waterfall-gutters but also me going in and out of the sliding door in the bedroom, yet in the middle of the night she can be awakened by the slightest noise that doesn't sound like work...

As of this post it is raining so hard we lost the Satellite feed and it looks like a river down our paved drive way.

I'm in Finland for a few more months... it was -9F/-23C on my bike ride to campus today. The worst part is that the loaner bike I'm using has a hole in the seat and someone stole the bag off it during the rain a couple weeks back. It's been freezing ever since, which means that I have the pleasure of riding to campus on a block of ice essentially. That, and the lube in the ancient 3-speed hub thickens to the point where I have to pedal extremely hard just to get the thing to move. Heck, I had to pedal even going downhill. I guess a perk is that it raises my body temperature.
