I was just thinking about writing a new country song called "Beer in Heaven." It's not to be confused with Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven," which is overly sentimental. Should I write it? And do you think there will be beer up there?
Of course you should write it. There is beer in Heaven and the dead Hardley riders belly up every ride out through the clouds at the Heavenly Ice House. Tattoed bar maids singing and dancing on the table tops and that beautiful Hardley sitting pretty outside. Shame I am not getting there.
Why on Earth do you colonials persist in circulating the vicious rumour that we Brits drink warm ale? It is in fact, seved at cellar temperature, which is cool, as opposed to friggen freezing. This is so you can appreciate the wonderful flavour of a traditional English real ale!
To be fair Vig, to someone whose only experience with beer is the ice-cold crap the mega-breweries put out, "cellar" IS "warm". Me, I like English beer.
But it's still a good joke-
Why do the English drink their beer warm?
Reminds me of the old saying,"Wipac up now, when you can pack up later!" I've had bikes equipped with Wipac electrics, and they did indeed.........pack up! Perhaps they also made fridges.
If there ain’t no beer in heaven
I might as well go to hell
I think I’d be just as unhappy
Because God’s reward to me wouldn’t be
In the clouds up above
Yeah, I’d be deprived of all I love
If there ain’t no beer in heaven
I might as well go to hell
Of course, as you're reading this, you have to imagine it with a strong country drawl, twangy guitars, and a fiddle (not a violin, mind you).
When I was a kid, my grandma was always singing that polka, "In heaven there is no beer, that's why we drink it here."
