New Trophy on its way..

Reported in MCN today.

New shaft drive Trophy. Maybe British police will be on British bikes again?

About time they brought the Trophy back. Now if they'd only make a Daytona 1050R (& race the MF). They'd have the perfect line up.

anyone else think this sort of thing might hit sales of the sprint a bit?

What with the price of things, the climate at the moment and the possibility of something better/more suitable/different up and coming people may hold off trading?

Triumph don't seem to mind redirecting Sprint buyers elsewhere. The Tiger's been doing just that, ever since it became a dedicated road bike.

exactly, soon there'll be a choice of three if this goes into production, I can't see the new sprint gt being a one year only thing?

The Sprint GT seems to be getting slagged off quite often in the press, so I wouldn't be surprised if it quietly disappeared when this Trophy's launched. It's about time they bought the Trophy back, anyway. Wonder whether it's a triple or a four.

Shirley they will, its great to have the 675,s to barrack for in the supersports, I cant get the link to open aargh I wanna see, off for another go

Bobbo , Ive heard good things but to me it just gained too much weight!

cant tell a lot from those shots but I note it has the same dreadfull muffler as the GT , lets hope it hasn,t got the new Speed Triples headlights lol . So should we assume the SpeedTriple may become a 12 or 1400 ?. Dont know quite how I feel about that , interesting tho.

It looks like a superb bike. Naturally I will be interested to see more of it.

I'd be flabbergasted if it weren't a triple. And quite disappointed, really. Leave 4s to other companies. Triumph does triples, and shaved triples.

Probably just a test mule muffler.

And put me down as opposed to the idea of a Daytona built around the 1050. Daytonas should introduce new engines that get handed down to other models, NOT vice versa. I'd like to see a 975, much more than a >1050 engine. Lower weight, better fuel efficiency/range, and all that.

But a new Trophy. Hmmmm.

triples are a good unique point, if they change to another configration it shouldn't be something thats been done to death.

We can't compete point for point with the japanese, if they managed on spec they'd blow the bank on cost.
